Sapa Stone Church, officially the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, was built by the French in the late 19th and early 20th centuries from local stone. Its Gothic-style tower stands over the town square, which is the social centre of Sapa, especially in the evenings and at weekends.
The square in front of the church hosts festivals, markets and evening gatherings, and is the easiest landmark in town to find.
